Just like any other person that you interact with in life, its important to know that your therapist is a good fit - So here is a little bit about me:
As a native of Kansas City, I have enjoyed the transition to the mountains. I am a mom, sister, daughter and friend. My passion and what fills my heart with joy is to be around people.
Our families stories are reflected in our lives each day. How we interacted with our primary caretakers shapes how we show up in every aspect of our lives.
I believe the most impactful and important relationship is the one that we do not realize that we have with ourselves.
Often times, how we are relating to ourselves and environment is rooted in ways that draws us away from are authentic selves. Relating to self is often rooted in hurt, fear, anxiety - core wounding experienced in childhood and trauma that we have experienced as adults.
Coping strategies are developed can be beneficial and self protective and needing during times of stress.
Although developed as a coping strategy, navigating from core wounding and trauma greatly impacts our day to day functioning. We can become hyper vigilant and respond to our nervous systems without knowing. This limits our ability to connect with others and ourselves in the healthiest way possible.
Listening to our bodies, trusting our intuition and honoring our stories is a large part of the healing process.
When we can identify ways that we interact with our environment that no longer serves us we are then able to embrace ourselves from within. We no longer need to seek out safety and a sense of self validation from external sources. We get to choose how we show up in the world and define our own identity.
When we show up as our authentic selves we are able to navigate a life with ease and confidence. We all deserve that.
I would be honored to be a part of your journey -
-Lizzie
Nature can be one of the most healing aspects of our lives. I will never give up an opportunity to go for a hike with my two dogs: Elma and Rooney.
Dogs are the best at unconditional love.
